Newly engaged and planning a wedding in Ontario and don’t know where to start? Don’t let COVID ruin your dreams of a beautiful celebration. Let these intimate outdoor weddings in Ontario inspire your matrimony plans!
1. A Wedding in a Garden
Take note from this couple and escape the city. Create an intimate space in the open with beautifully styled tables at a venue with lots of trees. You can also add an interesting ceremony backdrop with lots of gorgeous florals to add personality and colour. Reverie Farm is the perfect backdrop for a sweet garden wedding and just beyond the trees is a field facing west for incredible sunsets!
2. Micro Wedding in Prince Edward County at 100 Acre Wood
Why not consider a micro wedding with a handful of your nearest and dearest? This couple rented a cabin at Angeline’s Inn in Prince Edward County for getting ready. There they exchanged private vows then headed to 100 Acre Wood for a quick outdoor ceremony surrounded by beautiful fields. Their reception was an intimate dining experience with some incredible food. Check out their full 100 Acre Wood wedding for more inspiration!
3. A Backyard Wedding at Home
This bride bought her parents neighbours home. So naturally when their dream wedding as Casa Loma was cancelled due to COVID, they decided to ditch the fancy reception and have an intimate backyard wedding ceremony at their new home. It was nice getting ready in their own home and then stepping outside for their beautiful ceremony in the backyard. After all the happy tears were wiped away, everyone walked next door to her parents backyard for a beautiful tented reception!
4. Not Your Mom’s Backyard Wedding
No venue? How about getting married in your mother’s beautiful backyard! Originally this couple wanted to elope, but they couldn’t bare the thought of not having their most important people there with them. With access to such a beautiful yard, it was a no brainer to keep things simple at home. The bride’s parents prepped and cooked all the food (which was delicious) and BBQ’d while everyone mingled and had drinks. They enjoyed their meal surrounded by manicured gardens as the sunset light filtered through the trees.
5. A Farm Wedding in Meaford
This couple chose to have the best of both worlds. They had an elopement in Toronto with just them two and then they celebrated the following month with family at a gorgeous farmhouse. They enlisted the help of family to ease planning and also have everyone involved in a special way. Sisters and sister-in-laws did the floral arch and a brother lead the symbolic ceremony. They even had their adorable niece and nephews throw flowers down the aisle. It was truly a labour of love. Dinner was an immersive culinary experience with 7 courses by the talented Sumac+Salt at Good Family Farms. Of course, the couple snuck away during sunset for some epic portraits in that golden light!
