I have a lot of couples who want summer sunset engagement photos by the water, so I bring them to my secret spot. It’s pretty unassuming but once you get close enough on foot, everyone has the same reaction. They can’t believe that this place exists among houses and industrial complexes. It’s quiet. There are cliffs and rocky shores, overgrown field and a large gnarly tree that everyone loves to climb. We almost never encounter anyone else there which is great because it’s never nice when you have people staring at you while you get photos taken.
I brought Beryl & Calvin to my secret spot on a perfect summer evening. It was warm with a very light breeze. There was just enough cloud in the distance to make for a perfect cotton candy sky after sunset and almost no bugs. I threw on some music and we talked as if we were old friends. When a couple is as comfortable with each other and myself I usually try something new. Being incredibly pregnant did not stop me from creating a few images from a new perspective and I’m quite happy with the result. Scroll through to the end!
