An ode to wild love and the end of summer with this intimate at-home and sunset couples shoot on the fall equinox. I’ve been searching for a way to connect further with people and I’ve found the best way is to just talk to them. When I arrived at Maria & Jordan’s place, Maria opened the door wearing a denim shirt unbuttoned and a dainty black lace bra in full view. That was actually the perfect way to break the ice. We sat around their coffee table talking about what kind of music they liked, where they wanted to travel to next and how insane the housing market has become. Being honest and down-to-earth with people is the best way to get to know them, allowing them the space to be comfortable with you and then ultimately giving you the opportunity to capture something real.
I brought them to one of my new favourite spots along the water at Lake Ontario and we watched the sun set together. Nothing is ever forced when I document couples, I want them to pose themselves and I gently guide them if I notice they are awkwardly sitting beside each other like two lovers who have yet to confess their love to one another. In the next little while you’ll be seeing a lot more shoots like this and I’m really excited to share them with you all!
