I don’t photograph many families but when I do they turn out like these super cool Toronto documentary family portraits. I first met Brit at one of my workshops. We quickly became friends and confided in each other that we were expecting. We were only a few weeks apart! The entire pregnancy we would message and email back and forth about how we were feeling. I loved going through this new phase in my life with a friend who experiencing the same milestones at the same time. Once we both had our little boys we planned a play date. I was honoured when she asked if I could photograph their family on Gus’ first birthday. We hung out in their home and cuddled on the bed. It was relaxed and exactly how I like my family sessions to be.
