Frequently Asked Questions

My work is a combination of beautiful portraiture and photojournalism. I like to tell each story through creative, artistic images. I’m influenced by my surroundings: by century old buildings and beautiful landscapes, by energized individuals and intimate moments, by movement and interesting light.

Where are you based out of?

I am based out of Toronto, Ontario.

Do you travel?

I’ll travel just about anywhere in the world. The more remote the better! I charge a modest travel fee to cover airfare, hotel and/or rental car for the time of stay. Special rates are being offered for weddings on my Bucket List. See the full list here. Have an awesome wedding location not listed or a commercial project you want to discuss? Send an inquiry!

What are your rates?

Wedding commissions vary depending on location but my collections start at $4000. Take a look at my investment page for all the details.

Destination quotes are inclusive of all travel charges (airfare, accommodations, etc). Get a conversation going through the contact form for a full pricing guide and custom quote.

Why do you only shoot full day coverage?

If I only shoot a portion of the day, I don’t get the entire story. So when I am hired, you can expect me there all day. 14+ hours is typically excessive. But I can promise you that I will capture your entire wedding story and won’t leave until satisfied I can deliver a beautiful collection of images.

What is a first look?

I am a firm believer in the first look; an immensely intimate moment when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. There is only so much time couples get to laugh and cry and dance with the most important people in their lives who have come to celebrate their love. A first look allows portraits to be taken before guests arrive, and gives couples the freedom to enjoy cocktail hour without being pulled away from their loved ones for photographs. In addition, a wedding is a celebration of your love for one another, yet you spend half the day getting ready, away from each other. Sometimes less effort should be put into transforming your face and body into something you are not on a regular basis so that you can spend more time with the person you love on your wedding day.

What is the best light to photograph in?

Light is a very important element in photography. For weddings, I always suggest getting ready in a bright, naturally lit room with very little clutter. I also suggest sneaking away for a bit during the hour leading up to sunset to get some nice warm photographs and to spend a bit of time alone together.

We love what we see! Now what?

Great! Don’t be shy, send an message through the contact page. We can Skype or chat in person just about anywhere: coffee shop, pub or local brewery. For me to capture the best images, it’s really important that we mesh well.

How long does it take to get our images?

Typically, delivery of images will take between 4-8 weeks.

How many images will I receive?

I won’t hold your memories ransom. You can expect to receive 500+ images, similar in style as what can be found in my portfolio.

Do you bring backup gear?

Of course!

Do you have insurance?

I carry a 5 million dollar liability insurance. Let me know if you require proof and I can provide you with a copy.
